Lola completed around 300 shots as the sole vendor for Russell T. Davis’ adaptation of this classic Shakespeare play.

Airing on BBC1 this spring as part of the BBC’s Shakespeare season, this single 90-minute drama is a bold and accessible take on the tale of the star-crossed lovers and the magical fairies who rule the surrounding forest.

Set in the tyrannical city of Athens and featuring an all-star cast including Maxine Peake, John Hannah, Matt Lucas, Elaine Paige, Bernard Cribbens and Richard Wilson, this production uses the original play and the original words to create an inventive and exciting world full of surprises.

Lola’s Rob Harvey supervised the shoot in Lydney Forest and Roath Lock, Cardiff. Head of CG Tim Zaccheo and 2D supervisor Max Wright led the team back in London.
